The Humpback whales have been feeding in the inlet just off of the Retreat for the past 2 days.
Humpbacks spend the spring, summer and fall on feeding grounds in northern latitudes. In the winter they migrate to calving and breeding grounds in tropical waters.
In our area they tend to appear in early spring and late fall as they migrate to feeding grounds further north or begin their migration south but, as their numbers have increased, we are seeing them more often.
